General goals

providing formal descriptions and computational implementations of lexical, syntactic and semantic issues pertaining to the grammar of Portuguese that had not received a comprehensive and integrated treatment so far;
creating linguistic resources suitable for supporting a large number of language engineering applications;
developing language tools and technologies enabling on-line access to these resources.

In addition to the scientific and technological goals, this project also promotes advanced formation, given that research is partly carried out in the context of doctoral and master's dissertations.
